What shipped, release by release.

Each release opens with a short summary for people who use Sirius. Below it, generated from GitHub Releases when the site is built (last on October 8, 2026), is the technical record: the commits between one tag and the next, with documentation-only commits folded away.

v1.118.8latest

· on GitHub

Images you paste or attach reach the models that can see them; Ask, Edit and Agent each get their own tools, and the agent's file tools stay inside your workspace. Thinking is shown, Tab completion works on llama.cpp, local servers can take an API key, commit messages use your default model, and Sirius no longer overrides three of the editor's shortcuts.

40 changes · 14 documentation commits folded
  • 02d5fbf website: the v1.118.8 line for the changelog
  • 55fc848 website: no shortcut Sirius no longer binds is named — the model picker and the commands instead; each 'Changed in 1.118.8' aside on a page has its own name
  • 4550335 website: v1.118.1's summary says only what its commits did
  • 0365fa6 website: the comparison re-verified on 2026-10-08 against each vendor's live page — Trae and Cursor prices, Zed on Windows, Devin without Cascade, Kiro's telemetry; every source an anchored heading
  • dbae71f website: DIRECTION.md records the drawn surfaces and the bolt dividers; the landing renders under design/ are the page as it is now
  • 0c336ae website: the docs search dialog's backdrop is a flat plane, not a blur — the house rule applies to the component we now own
  • ea56960 website: declare Starlight's pagefind-config module so astro check stays at zero errors
  • e26b6ed website: an interaction test in npm test — phone menu, comparison tab stops, lazy docs search, download page
  • 1ecbb39 website: docs pages load the search only when it is opened, and inline the print stylesheet and the code-block script — one chain and two requests fewer, the docs LCP 1.50 s to 1.36 s
  • dfe8eb6 website: the comparison table is one tab stop per row for its sources, and the phone menu closes on Escape and on an outside click
  • 3f28af8 website: /download/ jumps to each platform and method, and every arm64 command has its copy button
  • 58a3bd6 website: the macOS notify link points at issue 9
  • 3e4f4fa website: the changelog opens each release with a user-facing summary, written from the commits between the tags
  • 7c82be6 website: the bolt carried down the page as a section divider — a hairline from the flare, twice
  • 14adab9 website: the feature sections show the drawn surfaces and say it in sixty words or fewer; the split alternates and the demos widen
  • c6067f1 website: drawn product surfaces for the feature demos — agent diff, Tab and next-edit, rules, browser, Source Control, import, remote terminal, in the real theme colours
  • afe27e9 website: the docs follow the review's changes — instruction files, the attachment budget, refused tools, symlinks, user-level endpoints
  • 50578eb harness, verify-release: the review's escapes probed live; a failed extraction counts as a failure
  • 556fb4a sirius-ai: from the review — endpoint settings are machine-scoped, audio/realtime/small Gemma models are not taken for vision, any commit fence is stripped, the exact default model wins, the llama.cpp key is read per request
  • 687a463 sirius-ai: from the review — the workspace boundary normalises paths and resolves symlinks, search is confined, only offered tools run, instruction files join the preamble once, attachments share a budget behind a nonce
  • abad80b website: the docs follow the 1.118.8 fixes — images and attachments, per-mode tools, thinking, created files, optional local keys, the default model for commits, no default shortcuts
  • 58f4ca7 harness: a probe for the docs-pass fixes; runs stay in Xvfb on a Wayland desktop
  • b0e4dc7 workbench: the title bar shows the Sirius mark
  • ac84a48 update: the update settings no longer say the updates come from a Microsoft service
  • b2d5ff3 sirius-ai: one participant per mode, attachments and images reach the model, thinking is shown, created files belong to the editing session, tools stay in the workspace
  • 25be2ea sirius-ai: OpenAI-compatible models that can see images are registered with image input
  • 11fea2d sirius-ai: commit messages use the configured default model, without a wrapping code fence
  • 0945eb6 sirius-ai: the Gemini key travels in the x-goog-api-key header, not the URL
  • 9bd0239 sirius-ai: LM Studio, llama.cpp / vLLM and custom endpoints take an optional API key
  • b71b926 sirius-ai: Tab completion calls llama-server's /infill at the server root, with the stored key
  • bfd2aae website: the comparison region no longer widens the document on phones; every page holds the brief's budget as written
  • 8e36e4f website: the performance / accessibility / SEO audit applied
  • b2e0810 website: the starfield's pattern fill, navigation links without the in-text underline, docs tables that wrap, the window's reveals without fades, the mono face preloaded off the landing page, the Lighthouse matrix
  • 2d2a45b website: the docs written to the code, the two review passes applied, the token and starfield fixes
  • fb65f0d website: the full build, first checkpoint — every page, the pipeline around it, the deploy script and the workflow
  • 2215b7a website: the six answers applied — Geist and Geist Mono, the window follows the scheme, the diff is the resting state, the headline; release data from GitHub at build
  • 847ec83 website: the picker shows its title row as the product does; the wording rule is for the site's own copy
  • ba5cc31 website: no gradients anywhere, the positioning line, no company mention
  • 7e1b891 website: the design direction — Astro + Starlight scaffold, tokens, the drawn hero, the providers section, review renders
  • acb848e legal: LICENSE.txt names the State of Delaware as the governing law
2 release-engineering commits
  • fd3e4a1 build: verify-release.sh — the outside check of a published release, every platform
  • c50dfdf build(deps): actions/setup-node v7 in the Sirius workflows (Dependabot #8, the upstream workflows left to the rebase)

v1.118.7

· on GitHub

Linux arm64 gets .deb and .rpm packages, and its tarball and server now hold the same glibc 2.28 floor as x64. The update server no longer offers the server tarball to arm64 desktops, and the Arch repository's publish step was hardened.

7 release-engineering commits · 11 documentation commits folded
  • ced0349 release: the Arch publish script checks the four database objects, pins the CLI error format, and cleans up
  • 9f6f202 release: the Arch repository script never mistakes a failed fetch for a first publish
  • 7e3c08c build: the arm64 deb list as the first cross-build rehearsal measured it
  • b93d738 release: patch the V8 headers before the cross-compile, and the measured arm64 deb list
  • 23af06e release: VSCODE_ARCH for the whole job, and gates that see a wrong-architecture binary
  • 2d98ba0 release: cross-build arm64 on the x64 runner — packages and a glibc-2.28 floor for arm64
  • db3e2b6 update-server: match the update asset by its whole name, not its suffix

v1.118.6

· on GitHub

The remote server tarballs (Linux x64 and arm64) ship with every release, the Arch pacman repository now updates with each tag, and the new Sirius icon replaces the old one on every platform. The arm64 build of this release needs glibc 2.38; v1.118.7 lowers that to 2.28.

1 change · 5 documentation commits folded
  • 3be0dda resources: the new Sirius icon, generated from one tracked source
3 release-engineering commits
  • 0a0e4ab release: the server, the install proof and the Arch repository join the train
  • f4688fa build: the cloud environment setup script, tracked beside the instructions that reference it
  • 52d2794 build: an icon generator — every platform icon from one source image

v1.118.5

· on GitHub

The first .deb and .rpm packages. New: next-edit prediction (off by default), project rules and ambient context, image input carried to each provider that accepts it, tool sets sized to the model, prompted tools for local models without a tool API, and the integrated browser on by default.

5 changes · 3 documentation commits folded
  • 359febb sirius-ai: prompted tools — agent mode for local models that have no tool API
  • d28fd6a sirius-ai: honour what product.json promises — completions switch, state command, output channel
  • 0455d9f sirius-ai: images reach every model, tools scale to the model, the integrated browser opens by default
  • ec22aad sirius-ai: project rules and ambient context — Phase 2 opens
  • e2cf73b sirius-ai: next-edit prediction
3 release-engineering commits
  • 3bba13e ci: give npm ci the job token — @vscode/ripgrep's postinstall hits api.github.com
  • 7f225f3 build: the sysroot build emits no libgcc_s GCC_4.2.0 — the fifth tunnel-only rpm entry
  • 234b50b build: make the Linux deb and rpm actually build — and install

v1.118.4

· on GitHub

One command imports settings, keybindings, snippets and extensions from VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf or VSCodium. Sirius also refuses to load Ollama models above 12 GB by default, after one froze a machine; the limit is a setting.

2 changes
  • 5a521a9 sirius-ai: import from VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf or VSCodium
  • bb08f3a sirius-ai: refuse to load models that can freeze the machine

v1.118.3

· on GitHub

The agent now acts in the project whatever the model's size: a curated tool set for small models, edit and create-file tools whose changes land in the editor's diff-and-checkpoint review, and a recovery net for models that write tool calls as prose.

1 change · 1 documentation commit folded
  • cf02d47 sirius-ai: make the agent act in the project, whatever the model's size

v1.118.2

· on GitHub

Chat works out of the box: Sirius is the editor's default chat agent, so there is no Copilot sign-in prompt, and a default model always exists. Tab completion is rebuilt on the local model's native fill-in-the-middle — debounced, cached and cancellable, and off until you turn it on.

3 changes
  • df79c48 sirius-ai: a default model always exists, and the registry warms at activation
  • e5b8daf sirius-ai: the Sirius default chat agent
  • 19acd49 sirius-ai: real Tab completion — native FIM, debounced, cached, cancellable
1 release-engineering commit
  • 69d514f update-server: read release metadata from R2, not the GitHub API
3 assets

v1.118.1

· on GitHub

The first Sirius-authored patch release. Agent edits now go only through the editor's reviewed edit path, and the commit-message and merge-conflict actions in Source Control work.

2 changes · 3 documentation commits folded
  • f373ec3 sirius-ai: bring the SCM sparkle and merge-conflict actions to life
  • 046847a sirius-ai: retire the mutating tools — the workbench's own do it right

v1.118.0

· on GitHub

The first public release: Linux (x64 and arm64) and Windows (x64), built in CI from the tag, with a build-provenance attestation on every asset and delivery through the update server.

The first release.
